You are working for a company. You need to take some time off work and want to ask your manager about this. Write a letter to your manager.
In your letter
• explain why you want to take time off work
• give details of the amount of time you need
• suggest how your work could be covered while you are away
Dear Sir,
I am writing this to request some time off work in December.
I would like to take some days off as my parents are about to visit me from India next month. We have not met for last three year and we have invited them here as we have to perform some rituals for my newborn daughter. Additionally, we have arranged a short trip with our family to Calgary to visit our relatives.
It would be great if I can take two weeks vacation from 23rd December to 7th January so that, I would be able to give some time to my family and relatives.
In order to cover my work during I am away, I will work one hour extra every day to make sure the urgent projects should be completed before I leave. Also, I will instruct my team members and advise them of all the issues they need to interact with me. I can check my mailbox during my vacations so that nothing should be left uncompleted.
I hope you will approve my leave.
Yours Faithfully,
Jot
