When talking about what we should do if the professor or the leader says some wrong in a class or meeting, people have different opinions. Personally, I prefer to interrupt and correct the mistake right away.
At first, I want to tell a history about my own country, Taiwan. In Taiwan, there was once a period we were taught to respect the leader of our country and listen to everything a teacher told us despite the fact that schools were controlled by the government. This period is called white threat in 1900 to 1988. Everyone was threatened by a tough and cool leader. After a long-term fight including many good people dead, we are now able to speak out loud what we really think about. Therefore, interrupting in a class is a behavior to honor the courage those brave people did for us. Therefore, nowadays in Taiwan people are encouraged to offer their own opinions in a meeting. There is even a TV show which let people call in and discuss while the president is making a presentation in an important holiday.
Even though some people argue that it is rude to interrupt the lecturer during a class. I don't think this way. Interrupting during the class makes students think about the problem which the lecturer is talking about rather than just listen. There is a theory that people learn better when using as many as sense abilities at the same time such as visual and vocal. In other words, a student who listens to the professor what he learns maybe limited than another student who talks and discusses with the lecturer.
There is another merit to correct the mistake during the meeting, to help students do the brainstorming together. Some students who are not interested in the topic at first may join the discussion together. I believe it is a better way for the technology development is from challenging and discussing with scholars and intelligent students.
For these reasons, I think interrupting right away is no doubt the best way for students.
