It goes on to say that the researchers sailed on it from Ireland to North America, proving that the techniques and materials utilized during the 16th century were advanced enough for a long journey. Nonetheless, the professor argues that the ship constructed by the experts was longer and contained more people, making the task of traveling to a region easier than Brendan and his crew alone.
Lastly, the article asserts that markings discovered in North America resemble the ogham letters used by the ancient Irish, specifying Brendan and his helpers settled there and made those symbols for diverse reasons. On the other hand, the professor disputes this argument, contending the markings rather symbolize pictures and graphics made by the Native Americans that inhabited the area.
To sum up, although both the author and the lecturer explore Brendan and his expedition to North America, they both conclude with different views and details. Despite that fact, it is evident that, they will have trouble finding common ground on this issue, and the three points made in the lecture are effectively challenged by the author.
