line-height: 107%; font-family: "Lucida Sans Unicode", sans-serif;">In the set of materials, the reading passage talks about glass that is favorable material for buildings and birds collision with this glass and listening passage talks about the same issue and provides some reasons to retort reading passages ideas.

The reading passage provides some solution to prevent the collision the building's glass with birds. first, one way is replaced the clear glass with one -way glass is transparent is only one direction. the building can see out but birds and others cannot see in. the second solution is paint colorful line or other design on glass than cause the bird can identify glass and don’t go through it. the third, make an artificial magnetic field to guide birds away from buildings. all the birds have natural magnetic ability that cause to building can controlled the birds direction.
g the listening passage professor think the reading passage solution can’t be useful because of some reasons. first, one_ way glass can reflect like mirror and this can cause birds see the sky on it and go through glass, therefore the first approach of the reading passage is proved unconvincing. second, with paint the glass with colorful line may be birds confused and see the line like hole and go through glass, so the writer’s second idea rebutted. The last, birds use their natural magnetic ability for long distance but they don’t use it for short distance like go from one side of the city to other side, thus retorted the last argument in the reading passage.
