The reading was about the disadvantages of ethanol as an alternative of gasoline, but the lecture cast doubt on the article by giving some specific reasons.
The reading states, as a gasoline ethanol also release carbon oxide in to the atmosphere, in the result ethanol will not have any environmental advantage over gasoline. However, the professor says that ethanol will not add to the global warming because corn plants will observe carbon oxide from air and it will remove the carbon oxide.
The article adds that the production of huge ethanol will reduce the amount of foods of animals such as cow. Nevertheless, the professor talks that ethanol will not reduce the food of animals because that part of the corn which made ethanol are not eaten by animal, so it will not decrease food of animals.
The reading states that the ethanol will never compete with gasoline if the United State stop helping producers. In contrast, the professor adds that the ethanol can compete with gasoline. Whenever more people buy this, the product will increase, therefore the price will drop.
In conclusion, the professor denies the points made in the article about ethanol by giving specific reasons.
