The reading claims that we are experiencing a global warming and the evidence of that is clear and provides three reasons of support. While, the professor states that there is no conclusive of proof , we just don't know and he refutes each of author's reasons.
To begin with, the article avers that data from instruments across the globe indicate a warming trend. In contrast, the lecturer opposes this point by explianing that it true but if we take all thermometers and average them, we will find that in the last century, the temperature was risen. He emphasized that not all readings are trusted since not all thermometers well maintained. He says that if we take just thermometers which well maintained, especially in Europe and the US, we will there was no warming trend after 1970.
Second, the article posits that scientists have reported ans alarming rate of breaks in the ice shelves in Antarctica. Conversely, the professor casts doubt on this point by discussing that this evidence is flawed. in fact, he states that it is true that there are large breaking of icebergs, however the article fails to explain and there are both warming and cooling. Also, he assumes that the number of breaking ices because increase in the tempreature and the nature of breaking is not related to the temperature. Actually, they need more time and researches to approve this idea.
Third, the reading assert that the newspaper and an organization have considered the evidence of warming trend. The professor refutes this point by saying that it is irresponsible. He mentions that these organization and newspaper didn't wiegh the evidence and the report that mentioned in the reading was published before evaluation. In addition, newspaper was published before any exam and wanted to sell the paper, not to inform republic.
