On the contrary, the lecturer rebuts this by saying that if a professor appears on the television, his reputation among his fellow teachers will be affected, and he will not be looked as a serious professor.
Secondly, the reading mentions that University would also benefit from its professor's visit on the television program. This would increase the University's publicity and eventually would gain more applications from students. Lecturer rebuts this point. She says that professor's time would be wasted in getting dressed for the show, preparing on what to present, and his presence would be unavailable in the campus or for the students. And this would affect his profession, by not getting invited to important meetings.
Lastly, the reading states that along with the Professor and the University, the General public also gains advantage when a professor makes appearance on the television. The article notes that the viewers gain knowledge and get exposed to ideas of what the scholar professors presents, which in reality the public would never have thought about it. The lecturer challenges this point. She says that television viewers are not interested in watching academic lecture; they are rather looking for entertainment.
