Self-driving cars
In contrast to the reading passage, which emphasizes on advantages of driving car, the lecture states the reason why autonomous driving car could be dangerous. The passage mentions three advantages of autonomous car on the human society. However, the lecture disagrees with each of the advantages mentioned in the passage giving specific reasons for all the three.
First, the reading states that most car crashes happen from human error and if we use self-driving cars this human error will not happen. The reading further bolsters this assertion citing that one car has driven for a very long distance without having any accident. Nevertheless, the lecturer denies this claim. Self-driving cars are made by humans. So, they are as well prone to errors like human driven car. He further underpin his argument stating that the car, which was praised in the reading for not having any accident, just had hit another car.
Second, the passage says that self-driving cars are good for environment because cars communicate with each other. This causes car to reduce the neccessity of starting and stoping the engine again and again. But, this claim is rejected by the lecturer. According to the lecturer, since self-driving car will need no license to drive more people with drive which will result in increased pollution. Every person from all age ranges will be using the car.
Third, according to the passage people can be engaged in other activity like reading, watching TV or working instead of driving because an autonomous car will not need a driver. However, the lecturer states that the people feel very relaxed when they drive a car. People will listen to music and radio when driving the car. This reduces there stress from day to day activities. This will help people a lot.
