In this set of materials, the reading passage says that smart cars will improve our lives in and we will be only a passenger. There are three reasons to support this. On the other hand, the lecturer says that there are no clear benefits and refutes each reading reasons on the passage.
First of all the writer claims that this car will reduce the numbers of accidents. The lecture says that is not clear like this. She told that this smarts car, like all technology, can fail and cause, in fact, more accidents. In addition, because they will be together as a pack, they will be easily involved in more problems.
Second, the reading passage says that the increase in smart cars will cease the problems with traffic. On the other hand, the lecturer says that as the history says to us, drivers are inconvenient and can not let this car going fast. Moreover, The traffic and rush hours not allow drivers to take advantage of this
Thirdly the text shows that smart cars will reduce our cost of driving. The lecture disagrees with this saying that because of the sensors are expensive this car will be very expensive to repair and to maintain. In addition, they will need to replace traditional mechanics.
