The reading and the lecture is about on the employees and their needs that they want a job, which is are for 4 days in a week rather than 5 days in weeks, 8 hours per day. The author of reading beliefs that it is a brilliant option for all the workers while the professor casts doubt on this, he says, it does not do really any work by reducing the days. he thinks, this is not an right option for overcome all the problem related to this.
First of all, according to the lecturer, by minimizing the days of employees does not prefer a better option, because if this option would be select, then it could more costly due to hiring a new employees for that compensation. The reading passage explain this by challenge that it could be better to increase fresh workers by new set ups.
Second, the reading passage describes the it leads to economical matters very huge, because there is less salary for 4 days workers rather than 5 days. While according to the professor, it does not seems very positive because you are paying more money to recent job holders as well as must give training them is necessary too.
In the last, the author of the reading also explains, there is more opportunity for the new workers as a new jobs available for the coming generation, more advantage by the presenting more vacancies and it will be very beneficial to the young generation. Although the lecturer opposes this, there is a huge risk to take a new hireling, he thinks it is not a convenient option, as new coworkers will have a lot of problem, the will not worry about this.
Thus, the lecture and reading, both claims and challenges each others view point by summarizing their points according to their level of understanding.
