According to the reading in United states, employees wants to work four day per week and less payment instead five days per week. The article proposed that company should give the option to employees to four days per week because of a company gets the benefits, improvement in the ecosystem and employees enjoy their life. Whereas, the lecturer refutes the three options present by the reading and he says that it does not benefit to company, ecosystem, and employees.
Firstly, the passage implies that company gets the profits by save money to less payment of the four days per week worker and hire more employees at same works. In contrast with this, the lecturer mentions that company has to pay more for new employees training, medical insurance and salary. Hiring more employees and then increase the requirement of the computer and other machinery, Besides to high usage of the cAomputer and machinery.
Secondly, the article suggests that decrease the unemployment rate because of a company provides more jobs. Workload also shifts to other employees. On the contrary with this, the speaker explains that job availability does not increase since some company asks to them full-time work and overtime work paid more than the regular payment. Company expectation increases to the workers by given this policy causes more burden to employees.
Thirdly, the passage states that employees extra time spend with their family and enhancement of quality of their life. However, the professor points out that free time detrimental effect on the quality of the work and decline the job abilities which harm to an advancement of the workers. Increase the chances the workers losing their job.
