The reading states that many empoyees are going to change five days working with four-day week and provides three reasons of support. However, the professor claims that four days working is not a good idea and oposess each of the reasons.
First, the passage claims that some companies have a obligatory policy to cut their expenses. However, the professor refutes this point by saying that more employees must be chosen and that never allows to have any decression in the amount of payed money. he also mentioned that other expenses like health care and medical treatment are thesame for all employees that work in 4 or 5 days but more employees means to have more expenses in that way.
Second, the reading avers that lower working hours will help to company to gain more profit due to more rested and alert. The professor explains that maybe job opportunetiy increases, but hiring new employees will have its own expenses. he also mentioned that more employees must do the work of 5-day working employees and this wont make any profit to the company.
Third, the reading states that by cutin one day of week, the employees will have more time to assign to their family an do their private interests. However the professor contends this point by saying that more free time will not be effective for employees. he explains that employees will lose their ability because they take distance from their job and their efficency wont be as the time that they have shorter vacation.
