TPO-42 - Integrated Writing Task Glass is a favored building material for modern architecture, yet it is also very dangerous for wild birds. Because they often cannot distinguish between glass and open air, millions of birds are harmed every year when the
The article states that glass which is used in construction for windows or cosmetic purposes in dangerous for wild birds because they can't discriminate between glass and open air so they fly through the windows and it will injure them. The article offers three preventive procedures but the lecturer refutes each of them and claims that they are not helpful.
first, the article claims that one-way glass is an instrumental way because birds think that it is a solid barrier but the professor rejects this method by saying that one-way glasses are reflective and they are similar to mirror so bird could see the reflection of the sky or a tree and the flew through the glass will occur.
Second, the passage explains that colorful lines on the glasses will be helpful for birds to distinguish the window but the lecturer avers that birds perceive that the space between thsese stripes are holes and they will attack through them. this solution will be useful if the lines become have been drawn near to each other but on the other hand this close lines will make inside the building dark.
Third, utilizing magnetic field equipments will help the birds to locate the building and it will prevent their collision. The professor challenges this solution by saying that birds harness their sense for electromagnetic signals in remote movements. As a result for short distances they use their sight sense and brightness of light.
