TPO 48 - Integrated Writing Task

The reading describes three assumptions that cause the decline of some frog species from their natural habitat. However, the lecture asserts that assumption does not seem to be practical. The lecturer supports her idea by illustrating her own beliefs.

First, making laws to restrict the use of pesticide in farmland will not financially benefit the farmer. Farmers use pesticide in order to grow more crops, but, without using pesticides, farmers get less crops from that region where farmers use pesticides. As a result, they will suffer in the market.

Second, although antifungal is helpful to save the frog from dehydration, this process is very difficult to ensure. The lecture also says that, it is essential to treat every individual frog with antifungal to cure them. Additionally, this antifungal does not transfer to their offspring’s body. So that it also required to push this antifungal to their baby. This whole process will be too expensive.

Third, water from the lakes and marshes are used by the people. It does not reduce the amount of water from lakes and marshes. If we stop the use of water from lakes and marshes it will not save the habitat of frog. Furthermore, the speaker also states that the increase of global warming is the main cause of the reduction of water in the lakes and marshes.
