The reading passage and the lecturer both talk about sending human to Mars. But the writer provides three reasons for which sending human to Mars is so challenging and it will impossible. But the lecturer opposes by saying there are problems to send human to Mars but also possible solution make possible the Mars mission.
The author indicates that round trip will take almost two years so necessary food, oxygen and water scarcity is a potential threat for the mission where, the lecturer mentions hydrophonic techniques as a solution. By this process astronaut can grow plant or vegetables in aerospace, again these vegetables release O2 and absorb CO2 so they breath with fresh air also.
Second, the author claims that long journey to space or zero gravity environment can cause severe harm to human body but the lecturer opposes these. She says that astronaut have experience of staying several month in such environment and if they do regular exercise or take calcium the problem might be solved since it help to reduce the lowering the bone density.
Third, the author also mentions that dangerous solar radiation in the interplanetary space would harmful for astronaut but the lecturer also clarify that, she says solar radiation is not harmful all the time, it can cause damage for some times. If the astronaut can use special technology to detect the harmful radiation they can save them from the harmful radiation.
