tpo31 task 1
the passage claims that this is the implausible idea that fine line patterns in adjacency in the skeletal bone of Sinosauropteryx are the indication of these animals have feathers. even though, the lecture by bringing some evidence to display objection with the reading and deduce there are strong pieces of evidence to call Sinosauropteryx feathered dinosaur.
First, The author argues that the fine line could be the presentation of dinosaur skin's which decomposed into fibers after an animal's death. on the contrary, the professor highlights the fact that these skin fossils do not see in the other dinosaur in the same site and these animals were buried beautifully in volcanic ash without skin decomposition into the fiber.
second, the reading holds that view that there are more likely these fine lines interpreted as another part of dinosaur for instance frills. In contrast, the lecture dismisses the point owing to the fact that feathers contain protein structure like betacarotene, in opposition to frills which are chemically different.
Finally, the passage assert that inorder to location of feathers in Sinosauropteryx, there is impossible to use these feather as tools for flight or thermoregulation in contrast to other animlas that have feathers. conversly, the speaker bring up the fact that some animlas have feathers in their tail which has distinct function. in dinosaur also, this feathers were colourful and used for display and attract male.
