The reading states that Agnostids were a group of marine animal, which became extinct, and provides three theories about the their possible original lives. However, the professor explains that all three theories have sever weakness and opposes each of the author's points.
First, the article averts that the agnostides may have been free-swimming predator that hunted smaller animals. However, the professor contends that it is unlikely because swimming predators usually have large and developed eyes, but The Agonstids had tiny eyes and were almost blind.
Second, the reading explains that they may have been lived on the seafloor. The professor refutes this point by saying that It seafloor dwellers mostly are not capable of moving fast and, as a result, occupy small areas. Even though, Agnostids spread on large areas and used to move fast from on area to another.
Third, the author claims that may Agnostids were parasites. The lecture opposes this point by stating that parasites do not live on very large population, and kill off the host. Despite parasited, Agnostids lived in very large population, which is ruled out of parasites.
