Frogs are in danger in recent years and thier population seem to decrease due to the changes in their habital and environmental condition. The passage suggest three posible ways to increase frog population, however, the lecturer cast doubt on practicality of these ways.
First, the passage mentioned, human use pesticides in order to fight against crop failur and insects. The pesticides will eventually dispearse to frog habital and kill tem. If there is a low to prohibit use of these chemicals the frogs population will increase. The lecturer refutes this claim by mentioning the fact that farmers yeild will decrease and they serve disadvantage.
Second, the passage mentioned fungus is adversly affected the frogs population due to the fact that fungas thickening the frog skins whose fully dependant on their skins in order to adsorb water and fungus initiate infection and desease on frogs. Human have to use treatmrnt to protect frogs from infections. In contrast, the lecturer mentioned this method will costly and complex due to the fact that this method have to specialised for individual species and human have to repeat this method for new frog generations.
Finally, the passage mentioned frogs live in wetlands and by prohibit the distruction of frog habitat, frogs could reproduce and their population will growth, on the other hand, the lecturer mentioned the shortage on wetland is due to the global warming and not totally releted to human activities.
