137) Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? High schools should allow students to study the courses that students want to study. Use specific reasons and examples to support your opinion.

While some people believe that, for the high school, it would be better let the students select the courses they want to study, others disagree. I hold the belief that, for both schools and students benefits, high schools should allow the students take the courses they interested.

To begin with, let the students develop their own interests is essential for their growth, and it would help the students acquire more motivating in learning what they are actually interested. Because learning with passion will let students extend their academic knowledge themselves and enhance students' self-learning opportunities. For example, when I was in the high school, I studied at the public high school. And at the public high school, the school doesn't let us chose the courses we were interested instead of scheduling the courses for us. Obviously, if the students didn't interested in subjects, they wouldn't pay attention at all. This is totally waste of time in both teachers and the students who didn't have the passion for courses. As for my neighbor, Jenny, she studied in private high school. Her school allows the students choose the courses they wanted. She said it is more helpful for students dug in their interests and found their talent. She said she was only interested in science and didn't care other subjects such as English and math. While she studied the science in-depth, she noticed that she needed to understand some English and math theories. And she will study the subjects by herself with motivation instead of the school's compulsory courses.

In addition, if the students attend the courses they select, it would decrease the problems the students cause such as skipping the class, making noise in class, and even more influence other students. Students will be more focus on the lectures since they choose it after all. For example, when I was in the high school, I don't like take the history and art courses at all. Every time when it comes to these two courses, I always skipped the classes or distracted in the classes. But when I attended the math and English class was totally different, I focused on the classes and concentrated. If the schools let us select the courses, it will fix the problems that the students skipped the classes or make other troubles.

In sum, although some people think that, for students own good, the school should arrange the courses for students. However, I believe that students will learn efficiently by choosing their own lectures, and schools will more easy to manage the students.
