. Hi, Mat, you got your paper
1. Hi, Mat, you got your paper done for class today?
2. No, I just realized it's sitting on my desk.
3. I wrote it last night, but I forgot to bring it with me.
4. Ah-oh, so what are you gonna do?
5. Well, I could drive home and get it.
6. I live off-campus.
7. But if I hurry, I'd probably get home and bring the paper back before class was over.
8. You know how strict she is about late submissions.
9. Yeah, but you'd miss part of the class.
10. I know.
11. Maybe you could talk to the professor.
12. Explain what happened and ask him if you could send it later by email.
13. I know, but I'd have to do it after class cause she always starts class right on time.
14. There wouldn't be time to talk to her until after class.
15. Well, why don't you do that and hope she doesn't consider the paper late?
A sample Answer to this speaking in text:
The man’s problem is he left his paper back home but his suppose to hand it in during today’s class. There are two possible solutions. The first one is driving home to get the paper, or he can explain his situation to the professor and hope for an extension. I think the first solution is better. First of all, if he hurries he can make it back to the class before it ends, and that means he won’t get any penalties for handing the paper late. Second, missing part of the class won’t affect his grade as much as handing in paper late because the professor is very strict about late submissions.
