Essay topics:

The increase availability of consumer credit in some countries has contributed to the problem of debt. Who is responsible for high levels of indebtedness: The financila instituitions that lend money or the individuals who borrow money?

Recent decades have withnessed the wide-spread of consumerism, along with that citizens are more and more familiar with various kinds of credit cards, leading to the number of personal debts in several countries. In this essay, I will discuss the reasons why I believe that people shold take responsibility of the situation.
On the one hand, the financial instituitions can cause the rapidly increase of individual debt. One of the most remarkable reasons is that they have launched a lot of types of credit cards. Indeed, in order to respone the need of the customer spending, some financial companies release many types of credit cards which encourage people to purchase more than their necessaties, entangling them to shopping addiction. As a result, the amount of individual debt increases significantly, making them become poverty stricken.
On the other hand, the increasing personal debts in many countries can be caused by the nember of public. One of the reasonable causes is the lack of personal income. Indubitably, employees have to devote more time on working in order to earn enough money to support financially for their families but with the rising inflation rate, their attempt is not enough. Consequently, they have to use some credit cards and gradually get caught in a vicious circle. In addtion, numerous customers are addicted in shopping. No doubt, many individuals go shopping in a daily basic and buying anything even if they don’t need it. Consequently, they run out of money at the end of the month.
In conclusion, the financial instituitions can cause personal debts as they lauch numerous types of credit cards which encourage people to spending. However, I believe that individuals are primarily responsible for the problem of debts because their income cannot cover their basic needs and they suffer from shopping addiction.
