High school should allow student to study the courses that students want to study: agree or disagree
It is perfect that students themselves can choose some materials which they are fond of. But, from my view point, it is better that students be obliged to take some basic courses at school because they can take their interesting courses out of the school. On the other hand, school is the last opportunity for students to study the basic and crucial courses. In addition, at the beginning student can't understand the necessity of the lessons.
First, school is the last chance that they are required to study some courses which they might not want to study. After High school, students have the right of choosing their interesting fields at university and then they are free to select their own jobs. Therefore, high school is the only difficulty that they have on studying. At university they have lots of optional unites and It is not unfair that they are required to take the courses that they might hate them.
Second, students might not understand the necessity of taking some courses at first. Students might dislike some materials like mathematics and physics at first. But, it is proved that these students themselves confess to being useful these courses which they hate before at school after passing time. For example, there are some certain principles which we will deal with in the future. Therefore, they are unable to know how much math is efficient for them at the beginning.
Third, students can take their favorite courses out of the schools. There are lots of institutions that provide students the great chance with their wishes. In fact, they can take a vast variety of courses like music, language, painting, photography, and sports. Consequently, students can perform their favorite ones in the summer, on the weekends or even every day in the evening. No wonder, it had better that schools have their own curriculum and educational schedule without the notification of the students’ interests.
I believe that it is acceptable that schools be somehow strict with choosing almost the lessons that students should take at school. In this way, students have opportunity to attend the courses out of schools, find out the usefulness the courses later. In addition, school is the only situation where they might be forced take lessons chosen and compelled by the professionals.
