Some people say that distance learning is a quick and effective way to study. Others however disagree and say that distance learning program can never be as good as courses taken in peraon. Do you agree or disagree with the statement?
In this modern epic, there are numerous ways available for imparting education. Undoubtedly, the presence of different sources of education raises a great discussion among thinking tanks. Some people favours the new thrive of distance learning as a fast and impressive technique to study while others are standing on opposite side. However, I personally asset with later view. The supporting ideas of my perception are described in the following fragments.
First and foremost benefit of distance learning is flexibility of time, one can presue a course on time which suits him. Along with time, a learner can study at a place of personal choice, he does not required to travel far to get education which ultimately saves cost and time of travelling. The distance learning is beneficial for those who lives in remote areas but they required good internet connection.
Considering the other view, favouring taking courses by joining educational institutions in person. Among various benefits attached with joining institution for education is the ambience of place of education which can never be achieved by any other mean of education. The feel of competition within a college helped a learner to do best in order to get success and compete with his rivalries. The interaction with teachers , other students and friends make a student socially sound and more adoptable to globalized world.
Adding more, the facility in a college or university like science laboratories to do experiments, research labs to do research related work or playgrounds, computing labs all helped a student to develop multiple skills. The teamwork in a project and participation in all other extra curricular activities contribute in holistic development of a learner. At last the job opportunities or placements provided by institution facilitate their students in terms of fast career growth.
In a nutshell, I would like to continue that undoubtedly distance learning is becoming part of our life but it cannot overtake benefits provided by conventional education system because of its limited benefits and only suitability towards short term courses and does not prove to be an effective for conventional studies.
