The given illustration compares the amounts spent on restaurant foods and on home cooking foods in four different years and the line graph gives the data how many meals have eaten in the two different types of restaurants.

As shown in the pie chart, initially in 1970, 90% of food budget was spent on home-made foods while only 10% was spent on restaurant meals. After a decade, the amount spent on restaurant meals changed to 15% and it increased to 35% in 1990. Finally, in 2000, an average family spent half of the total budget in restaurant meals and that shows a rapid increase in the people’s habit of having meals in restaurants.

In the line graph, we can observe that in the year 1970, they both were started at 20 number of meals per year and over the years these numbers kept increasing. Finally, in 2000, 90 number of meals were eaten in fast food restaurants while the sit down restaurant meals were eaten 50 number of meals per year. It shows the habit of eating fast food over the home-made food.

Overall, it is clear that there was an increasing trend in the money spent on having meals in restaurants throughout the years and fast food restaurant was favored by people than in a sit down restaurant.
