It is often thought that new and young workers should not replace experienced but old workers in an industry. In my opinion, both novice and expert workers work hand in hand to establish a healthy work environment in industries and experienced workers should not be completely replaced by inexperienced unskilled ones.
Firstly, young workers are physically stronger than their older counterparts and hence, can easily complete tasks which involve lifting or pulling heavy objects and instruments. For instance, a young worker is much more efficient and adaptable when it comes to tasks involving work during night shifts and holidays. Furthermore, new workers are enthusiastic and keen individuals who can learn to work on newer machines easily whereas old workers prefer to work on older machines and are not amenable to changes.
However, experienced workers in industries are used to working on machines, equipment etc. which rarely changes and are also aware of their shortcomings. Also, skilled workers know machines inside out whereas a novice unskilled worker doesn't even know how to operate them. Moreover, a skilled labor can guide newer inexperienced individuals bits and pieces of work to be done in an industry and eventually turn them into skilled ones.
To conclude, a skilled labor is as essential as an unskilled one in an industry. They both integrate together in order to form a sustainable industry.
