the diagrams below show the life cycle of the silkworm and the stages in the production of silk cloth
The given process illustrate the steps involved in the life span cycle of the silkworm as well as the manufacture of silk cloth.
Overall, it is remarkable that the first diagram goes through four consecutive steps, meanwhile, there are five constant stages in the second one, beginning with selecting cocoon and finishing with weaving.
To beginning with the life span of silkworm, eggs hatching on the leaf after 10-day birth convert into small silkworm larva. A larva is nourished by sources of mulberry leaf day in day out during 4 or 5 weeks. Before becoming cocoon, larva is covered around silk thread over the period of 3 or 6 days and then it is mature as a moth.
With regard to the production of silk cloth, firstly, not only are some cocoons having the highest quality collected, but they also are boiled with water at restricted temperature. Over the course of third stage, boiled cocoon have capability of unwinding in order to take thread of which length is approximately 300 to 900 meter. Once dying the thread, it is twisted and weaved to produced silk cloth effectively and gorgeously.
