Essay topics:

reasons about an asteroid could be the best colonization option

The reading passage presents three reasons about an asteroid could be the best colonization option, but the lecturer poses some evidences against these unpractical reasons in the reading.
To begin with, the reading purposes the first reason that the low gravity of asteroid can help us land safer, carry more equipment or use less fuel to take off than other planet or moon. However, the lecturer explains that what the low gravity brings to us are not just the benefits but a health problem for people who lives here, because we will loss the mass of muscle or the density of bone with low gravity, which needs to be a long time recovery.
Furthermore, the reading highlights the second reason that it is profitable for some sponsor to explore the asteroid because of the good source of rare and precious materials. But the lecturer argues that the cost of mining minerals or sending them back to earth is much more expensive than the profit of selling those rare and precious materials. Besides, if the production of those rare minerals will increase dramatically, and thus the price of those materials could reduce too.
Finally, the third reason is said in the reading that it is much easier to reach an asteroid than other planet like Mars. It is contrary to point out in the lecture that it could be much more difficult to go back Earth when asteroid leaves the closest point between the orbit and Earth, because it may be more far away from earth than Mars. Therefore, it could be a great challenge under this circumstance.
