The diagrams below reveal the life cycle of a silkworm and cycle of producing silk cloth. It is clear that the life cycle of silkworm have taken 9-10 weeks in average. It is also clear that production of silk cloth has 5 stages.

In the first diagram, it is shown that the first stage is started by laying eggs by a butterfly. After 10 days, larvae are born and feed from mulberry leaves while they are growing in about 4-6 weeks. At the third stage, they have to thread silk and finish it by 3-8 days. Cocoons are available in the fourth stage as they are expecting to be a butterfly within 16 days.

In the second diagram, it is indicated that the bests among cocoons will be selected in the first step. Consequently, the opted ones will be ready to be boiled in a hot water as they have to be unwound against the third stage in natural cycle. Every cocoon has 300-900 meters thread which will be twisted and weaved in the final stage where they are died in especial liquids.
