The table illustrates information of total number as well as gold, silver and bronze medals to the 10 most successful counties during Olympic games, in London, in 2012.
Overall, it is clear that the USA was the most successful country, furthermore, athletes from the US stood at top rank for gold and bronze medals. In contrast the least medals brought to their homeland sportsmen from Hungary. It could not be forgotten that number of silver and gold medals was more or less same.
America had won the most gold medals than any other participated country. While athletes represented the US had been awarded by 46 of them, however, in terms of continents, participated countries from Europe (Germany, UK, France and Italy) and Asia (Russia, China and South Korea) achieved almost the same number of gold medals (77 and 75 respectively). As a result overtook US by roughly 30 gold medals. Furthermore, American sportsmen in total had been awarded by the highest number of medals (104) what represented approximately twenty percent of all medals in London Olympic games in 2012. In contrast, their counterparts from Hungary gained only 17 medals in total.
As for silver and bronze medals, total number of medals was more or less same. When American athletes again won the most silver medals (29), Russian national sportsmen brought to their homeland the highest number of the bronze medals (32).
