The article states that the " let it burn " policy on natural forest fires causes the losses for the yellow stone parks and provides three reasons of support. While, the lecture states that the fire of the yellow stone park has created good opportunity for the park and refutes each of the author's reasons.
First, the article claims that the fire damaged the trees and vegetables in the park. Professor opposes this point by explaining that the fire created opportunity for plant colonies of the park to become various and divers. The professor provides two examples of plants which could grow better after the fire. One, small plants which need more place could grow. Second, the seed of plants also could germinate which couldn’t have grown in high level of heat before the fire in the park.
Second, the reading states that the fire also poses problems as to the wild life of the park. The professor refutes this point by describing that the growth of small plant has created new habitants for the small animals like deer and rabbit and the food chain would be stronger by supplying certain food.
Finally, article mentions that after the fire, the value of park for tourists and the local economy have decreased. The professor in the lecture rejects this point by saying that such an extreme fire is not usual and happens rarely. In spite of the enormous expense just for one year of the fire, its combination will come back for the next year.
