TPO-49 - Integrated Writing Task Like many creatures, humpback whales migrate long distances for feeding and mating purposes. How animals manage to migrate long distances is often puzzling. In the case of humpback whales, we may have found the answer: the

The text argues that the mechanism through which Humpack whales find their route on their migration process has mightily been found. While the text provides some reasons for backing up its claim, the lecturer on the other hand, refutes those reasons by providing some counter-rationale. Accordingly, The rest of this passage is on summing up the three-rationale and counter-rationale given by the text and the lecturer, correspondingly.

First, the text refers us to the intelligence of Humpack whales. It claims that Humpack Whales can exploit their higher level of intelligence in order to find their track and keep it steady by using stars. However, the speech we heard, completely considers intelligence non-related to routing procedures. He brings up ducks as an example; ducks have lower level of intelligence, but they still can find their route accurately anyway, so intelligence is not the required power for finding an animal's route.

Second, the text qualifies the source of routing and finding orientation just to the power of sight. It says that Whales cannot use landmarks on the sea the way that bird use landmarks on land, so they have to look at stars, the only unchanging, visible source they have. The lecturer, however, mentions the earth's magnetic field as Humpack whales source of power to find the correct route and orientation. He bolsters his claim by pointing out bio-magnitudes material in the brain of the animals as their sensor for finding the correct orientation as Humpack whales posses that kind of sensor.

Third, The text believes that sky-hopping, which means fish having their head up near the surface, is a sign of Humpack Whale looking at stars. The lecturer says that sharks do the same thing; however, they don't migrate. As a result, the man on the speech use this fact as a reason to refuse the text's claim. There is also one extra-reason for refusing text's substantiating provided by the lecturer: Humback Whale usually perform sky-hopping during day that stars are not visible.

While the reasons provided be text can lead us to believe that Humpack Whales are intelligent sea animals that can find the correct path using stars, the lecturer provide us with three reasons that refutes text's claims and persuade us that the tool used by Humpack Whales for finding the correct route is a bio-magnitude sensor and has nothing to do with the whales intelligence.
