Overall, it is clear that vast majority of online sales, Canadians, made for entertainment. While food and beverage experienced increase in sales, in contrast, Canadian bought on-line significantly less furniture.
Canadian spent the most money online purchasing electronic and appliances and video games. Although, proportion in sales reverse by 5% in both categories (18% to 23% and 35% to 30% respectively), total proportion remained same (53 per cent).
As for home furnishing and video games, similar reverse trend is seen, however, more significant. In 2005, people spent one quarter in on-line shopping of buying furniture, while 5 years later, only 15 per cent purchases of furniture have been made. In terms of food & beverage, 10 per cent increase in 5 years is seen (22% to 32%).
