The graph below shows in percentage terms the changing patterns of domestic access to modern technology in homes in the UK.
The graph illustrates the proportion of new technologies' spread between people in The United Kingdom.
The percentage of people who used to have CD players over the 7-year period, from 1996 to 2003, rose gradually from 60% to 82% approximately, while the personal computer proportion at homes of UK showed an upward trend from 25% until 55%. The usage of mobile phones fluctuated slightly. Its proportion increased until 1999s, then it reached its plateau in 2000s, then again began increasing. On the ground of the discovery of the social network only after all other modern technologies, it appeared at homes of engish people just in 1998, nevertheless it quickly became popular and the proportion of internet usage skyrocketed and levelled off in 2003s.
Overall, in the graph it can be clearly seen that the most popular modern technology was CD player, as its proportion never fell down over the period and people always gave preferences to it. However, compared to other types of technologies, the sharpest changing relates to the internet.
