The table compares how much land was covered by forest of four particular countries in the year of 1990 and 2005 with that in 2015 in estimation.
Overall, it is clear thar the figure for forested land of Brazil remained the highest over the given the period while the opposite was almost true for that of Australia and Chile. Moreover, the period was expected to witness quite a dramatic increase in the proportion of land covered by forest of New Zealand whereas Brazil's experienced a significant drop.
Initially, in 1990, 28.8% of New Zealand's area was forested land and there was rather a noticeable growth by nearly 3% in 2005. this figure was forecast to continually jump to 32.3 % in 2015. In addition, standing at the lowest proportion, 20.4%, in 1990, the percentage of forested land of Chile was expected to rise to a point of 22%.
Of the other countries, in 1990, Brazil had over half of its area covered by forest and became the highest in four countries. However, this figure decreased significantly and was estimated to see a sharp fall but would keep being the highest. Besides, there was a slight drop in the proportion of forested area in Australia from 21.9% to 20.0% which was forecast to be the lowest in 2015.
