The first chart below shows how energy is used in an average Australian household. The second shows the greenhouse gas emissions which result from this energy use.
The pie chart illustrates energy use while the second pie chart describes the greenhouse gas emissions of this energy use in an average Australian's household.
Overall, mainly the energy is spent on heating, this activity contributes to the largest proportion of greenhouse gas emissions, in fact, water heating. The cooling comprises the least part of the energy use and greenhouse gas emissions in the household of Australian.
The proportion of energy use and gas emissions are approximately the same for the water heating (30% and 32% respectively) and the cooling (2% and 3% respectively). Despite that heating comprises nearly half of total energy use, only 15% of this power emit the gas.
However, the greenhouse gas emissions from the other power resources increase by twice using these energies, such as refrigeration (14% and 7% respectively), lighting (8% and 4% respectively) and other appliances (28% and 15% respectively) in an average australian‘s household.
