The listening lecture totally opposes to the reading passage in how agnostids may have live. To begin with, the reading says that agnostids may have been free-swimming predators that hunted smaller animals. However, the listening argues that this is not likely to be true. All of the free-swimming predators need to have a well develop eyes so they can see their pray. However, agnostids have poor eyes, and sometimes, they are even blind. Moreover, if they are the predators, they must have some other special feature to help them pray on smaller animals, but there is no evidence that can explain this idea. Therefore, since agnostids have poor eyes and they do not have other special features, it is not true that they are free-swimming predator that hunted smaller animals.

In addition, the reading indicates that agnostids may have dwelled on the seafloor. On the other hand, the listening asserts that seafloor dwellers usually move very slow and occupy a small area without moving to other places. However, there are evidences shows that agnostids occupy in multiple areas and spread large distances. In other words, since agnostids occupy in many different places, they are not likely to be seafloor dwellers.

Last but not least, the reading suggests that agnostids were parasites that live and feed off larger organisms. However, the listening implies that this idea is incorrect. As we know, parasite's population need to be limited, otherwise they will kill to many organisms and lead them to extinction. However, researchers had found evidence of agnostids fossils shows that agnostids live in a large group. Therefore, the large number of agnostids population seem to rule out the theory that they are parasites.
