Some people think that large, impressive buildings are important for a city. Others believe that the money should be spent on improving schools and hospitals.
Discuss both these views and give your opinion.
In recent years, many cities in Indonesia create an impressive buildings because that are important for a city to attract many visitors to come. On the other hand, some critics appears that the money should be spend on improving schools and hospitals. In my view, they have positive and negative effects for the city.
Many buildings were built in the city with the wonderfully and uniquely designed as a symbol of the city. That means the Mayor or government want to introduce their city to people outside city to come and visit the buildings. With many tourists come to the city that could help increase the financial income for citizen. For example, Trans Studio Mall is an impressive and popular building in Bandung. It is become a symbol of city with the many features inside the building, such as theme park, mall, food court and cafe. That building is so modern and clean for family from outside city to visit Bandung in the weekend.
Even though the government have a plan to built their city, they have to improve and fix the public facilities too, like school and hospital. The tax from citizen which pay to government have to use with very fair, so the facilities for schools and hospitals have a good building. If they just built building to attract many tourists, the local people will left behind and they do not get proper education or healthy facilities. Moreover, they could become poor and not prosper.
In a conclusion, that is so important for the city to have an impressive building and they could maintain that building with the tax from citizen. In my opinion, the government have a role to manage the tax from the citizen to improve their city, not only an impressive buildings but also the building which have good facilities for education and healthy to the citizen.
