Some say that it would be better if the majority of employees worked from home instead of travelling to a workplace everyday .
Do you think the advantages of working from home outweigh the disadvantages ?
Apparently working habits have been significantly altered during recent decades. Consequently, in the modern world an overwhelming majority of people are of the opinion that distant working, to be more precise, working without going to offices or other workplaces will produce beneficial results for the whole society. Personally, it is my firm conviction that policy has both pros and cons, so in this essay I will endeavour to examine this tendency by taking all aspects into consideration.
To begin with, as the technology penetrates into our lives so rapidly, it makes accessible for workers to do their job while sitting at home. As a consequence, this policy arises their opportunity to be away from stressful work conditions and relax during the day.
Additionally, apart from benefits for individuals, proposed policy will greatly influence the society. In other words, due to the fact that the number of people commuting everyday will considerably decrease, it would lead to the drop in the number of traffic jams and other problems related to them.
However, opponents of distant working unanimously denounce and claim that this method has also detrimental effect on people’s health and psychology. To be more precise, sitting at home and being away from other workers may damage the socializing process. For me, this point of view seems to be unreasonable since people will not spend their time on the roads, they can effectively spend their time with their family and friends.
To put all things in a nutshell, I feel confident to claim that although the drawbacks indicated policy may be justified to some extent, the great quantity and necessity of merits surpass its demerits.
