Since three decades ago, there have been many changes in the way communicator doing the communication. These changes have affected the manner when people speak and write. However, sophisticated technology plays an important role for communicating. This essay will discuss between a good and bad thing of the changes, based on writer's opinion and reality.
In the 1928, Oxford English Dictionary was completed as a standard dictionary which has settled a pattern of language that was logical and free from the danger of ambiguity. Also, people have used for writing letters and speaking on the phones which have been the common methods to communicate. However, communicators nowadays prefer to use emails, texts and the internet as the most favourite communication tools. These tools have been as fast as thunderbolt than the oldest ones. As a result, they communicate more frequently and write every single word more quickly. Take one example; if the time is counted when people type a sentence in the texts using mobile phone, it is no more than two seconds.
Unfortunately, the more quickly people write, the more inaccurate messages' content they have. This is due largely to attempting to create the simple sentences which contain variation words. ASAP 'as soon as possible' and LOL 'laugh out loud' are the abbreviations words used by people when they are writing and speaking, for instance. Moreover, the unusual vocabulary will be famous words and will be debatable words. Also, punctuation sometimes leads misunderstanding when used with unappropriated end marks which would change the meaning. I deliberate that all people have to pay attention even awareness for using punctuation.
Standing in contrast, some communicators use informal words when making conversation with their close friends. What is more, they are likely to pay particular attention with accuracy when they write a formal letter such as curriculum vitae and job application letter. Indeed, if they lose ability to interact formally, this will be a crucial problem, and stuffy communication becomes careless. Having said and done, the new words in the English Dictionary have influenced by slang words, idioms and abbreviations. As a result, the latest communication methods which reveal the new words are not giving negative effect forever.
In a nutshell, I think that we cannot avoid using the new ways of communicating which is influenced by the communication devices. However, accuracy of grammar and vocabulary is still necessary to deliver the believed information.
