When it comes to traveling to Mars, the reading passage proposes three problems that haven't been solved, which are contradicted by following lecture.
First, the reading passage suggests that it is difficult for cargos to ship enough supplies, such as food, water, and oxygen, because the trip takes too long. The lecture, however, argues that it can be overcame by using hydroponics, which require little spaces. With this, astronauts can cultivate food, like growing plants. Moreover, they can also clean the water vapor to provide drink water, and release oxygen to make enough fresh air.
Second, the reading passage mentions that exposing in the zero-gravity for a long time is harmful to the bodies of astronauts. But the lecture indicates that there have been several spaceships traveling to the moon, which means this trouble already has a solution. In fact, astronauts can do more regular exercise in order to avoiding the negative effects.
Last, the reading passage points that there is a problem of space radiation, which is from the Sun and is unlikely isolated by a shield now because of too much weight. While the lecture disagrees, saying that the radiation is not always that dangerous, but only active in some particular time. A full-size shield is unnecessary, because when the radiation turns stronger, they can stay into a small one until the radiation has passed.
