TOEFL TPO 10- Integrated Writing Task
The passage discusses that a small animal named otter that lives in waters started declining. Also, the passage thinks there are two plausible reasons for describing this phenomena. the first one is environmental pollution and the second one is predatore attack. The text claims the invironmental pollution theory is a correct idea, while the professir rejects this idea by stating these animals diminished because o the predators. So, the professor rejects all the passage's reasons and provides three reasons.
First, the passage claims there are a lot of pollutant sources along the cost and they can produce harmful materials. So, these harmful materials kill the animals. However, the passage rejects this idea by stating that if this theory was true we could see dead boddy of these animall along side coast. But there are not dead boddy.
Second, the reading asserts there are other animals that declines and it is a document for accuracy of pollution theory. While the lecture suggests there is another answer for this question. The professor states that because human prey whale, it causes unbalances in prey and predation cycle. Consequently, many animals that have nothing to eat prey other small animals. So, declining in the number of snimals is explained by predators theory.
Third, the reading contends that researchers believe the pollution hypothesis could describe the uneven pattern of the animal decline, while the professor refutes this idea. The teacher explains that the location of these animals has a key role in their declination. For example, in shallow rocky places there are no evidence of declining in these animals but in other places there are documents that the number of these animals decline. This theory confirms that in different places the availability of preys for predators make them good bates. So, the text's reason is false.
