Some people believe that in order to be effective, political leaders must yield to public opinion and abandon principle for the sake of compromise. Others believe that the most essential quality of an effective leader is the ability to remain consistently committed to particular principles and objectives.

Write a response in which you discuss which view more closely aligns with your own position and explain your reasoning for the position you take. In developing and supporting your position, you should address both of the views presented.

Effectiveness is the most important aspect for a leader. Some people think a leader for the sake of compromise should abandon principle and accept people’s opinion; but others believe maintaining on specific principles and objectives is the most important characteristic of a leader. As belief of second group, I think a leader shouldn't change his opinion and must remain on his ideas to affect on his people.

Apparently, the specific characteristic of a leader is leading not obeying! If a leader doesn't be severe and easily abandon his ideas and accept public opinion, he is not a leader but an obedient of his people. A leader’s duty is guiding people, so he should be persevere and if he got some opposing opinions he should attempt to convince his opponents.

Also, since there are several opinions in a group, a political leader can not satisfy all people. There are some opponents for each specific opinion and with accepting one group of people’s opinion the others will oppose it. But if a leader has particular objectives for himself and deeply believe them, he would debate opponents in a cogent way and convince them to accept his opinion.

Totally, I think the ability of holding on specific objectives and principles and convincing opposing people are the most necessities for a leader to influence on public.
