The bar chart below shows the percentage of Australian men and women in different age groups who did regular physical activity in 2010
The bar chart represents the gender distribution among the Australians, for the year of 2010, in percentage terms of engaging in regular physical activities.
It could be noted that, at an age group of 15 to 24, the Australian men are more active than their female counterparts and more of them does exercises on a regular basis, speaking of the percentages being 52.8% and 47.7% respectively. However, the trend reverses beyond the age of 24 and women take part getting actively engaged higher than the men. The highest trendsetter is the age group of 35-44, where 13% more female community are active than the male community.
Taking it in overall, women could be said as more active than men, beyond the age of 24. Definitely though, there are ups and downs in the percentages, whether it be men or women. The percentage range for women actively engaging in exercises falls between 47.1 to 53.3%; where as for men, the percentage range falls between 39.5 to 52.5%.
However, as age passes by, the competition seems to end by. The activity seen in women drops down to 47.1, after reaching a peak 53.3%, and nearly matches to that of men who're at 46.7%.
