However, after the 6th year of camera installation, the ratio has rapidly grown up and reached to 16 lac in the 8th year. On the other hand, the killing ratio was 3100 in the first year and reached around 3400 in 3rd year. After this, the figures dropped by 3000 in the 4th year and shows fluctuation throughout the last year and touched again the similar figure of 2nd year.
However, 32% of people believe in the reduction of accidents by cameras, while 60% of people denied it and the remaining 8% have no idea. Furthermore, 26% of citizens think that speed cameras are installed to improve road safety, whereas, 71% gave reason to raise revenue and a very minor group of people do not know the reason. Another review on the number of speed cameras on the road, where 56% says too many, 19% says too few, however, 17% says about right and remaining 8% not aware of it.
Overall, it is clear to see that as speed cameras are installed the number of drivers pay more fines, while from a survey it shows that a large number of people believe it useless.
