The bar chart illustrates the number of men and women (in percentage) living in Australia who partook in physical exercise from age 15 to above 65 years in 2010.
Overall, more women engaged in exercise than men whereas young men of 15 to 24 years were more physically active than other ages. Notably, ranging from 35 to 64 years got involved in workouts compared to their female counterparts.
Physical fitness in men was significantly higher in 15 to 24 years (52.8%) than others, this is followed by a drastic decline in 25 to 30 years (42.2%) after which there was a gradual drop in ages 35 to 44 (39.5%), this then changed to take a steady increase till 65 years and above (46.7%).
On the other hand, the opposite sex started with 47.7% and continued to increase consistently to 53% (age 55 to 64). Furthermore, the older women reduced in their rate of activeness which is seen by a marked plunge in age 65 and over (46.7%).
