Graph shows number of male and female working in different occupations in freedonia
The graph illustrates the number of men and women who are working in six different employment sectors of the Republic of Freedonia between 1975 and 1995.
Overall, it was clear that in both years, the wholesale and retail trade and public sector (non-defence) had the majority of employees for both sexes. The group of male employees dominated in all sectors in 1975, but after two decades, female employees outnumbered the opposite sex in communication and wholesale and retail trade.
In 1975, the sector of wholesale and retail, and public sector (non-defence) had the greatest number of men and women employees but the number of men were higher by more than 700-800 thousand. In manufacturing and finance/banking, the number of female were only half of the male employees. In contrast, a small number difference in communication sector can be noticed from the number of male to female employees, but for public sector (defence) men dominated at more than 200 thousand.
After two decades, female employees outnumbered male workers in the wholesale and retail trade, and communication sector. The number of employees for both sexes in public sector (non-defence) and manufacturing remained unchanged. For finance/banking, women employees rose its number from more than 100 thousand to almost 500 thousand compared to men, only a small number increase were noted. Apparently, for public sector (defence) although women had a moderate rise to almost 100 thousand, men were still higher at 200 thousand.
