The graph below shows UK acid rain emissions, measured in million of tonnes, from four different sectors between 1990 and 2007.
You shoud write at least 150 words.
The line graph illustrated the changes in the amount of acid rain emissions among 4 different categories in UK: Transport and communication, electricity, gas and water supply, domestic and other industries over a period of 17 years, from 1990 to 2007. It can be clearly seen that the total amount of acid rain emissions descended considerably between 1990 and 2007. While electricity, gas and water supply indicated the most dramatic decrease, transport and communication remained the stable in the quantity of acid rain emissions. In 1990, electricity, gas and water supply accounted for the majority in the number of acid rain emissions, with approximate 3,4 million of tonnes. About 2 million tons came from other industries. The figures for other two sectors, transport and communication and domestic, was lower, at about 0,7 and 0,6 millions respectively. In 1997, after 17 years with a significant cut-down, electricity, gas and water supply handed over the first place for other industries with less 0,5 million of tonnes in number (1,25 compared to 1,75 millions). At the same time, transport and communication reached the amount of 0,8 millions, which made it widen the distance with domestic ( about 0,3 millions lower). 2007 witnessed the most remarkable change among 4 sectors. Although having strongly cut-down, other industries took the lead with the figure of 1,25 million of tonnes while electricity, gas and water supply dropped to the third place with only 0,5 million of tonnes. Transport and community was responsible for 0,75 million tons and domestic just contributed a small quantity of 0,25 millions.
