The given graph shows the nitrogen oxide emissions produced by four vehicles.
The line chart illustrates data about how much nitrogen oxide is released by various transport categories, namely, diesel car, petrol car, lorries and buses from 10kph to 130kph. Overall, the amount of nitrogen oxide given off by all type of vehicles in question almost remains the constant, except for lorries, falling significantly. Additionally, buses are the most polluting vehicle over the whole speed.
As can be seen from the graph, buses are the least environmentally friendly form of transport at 10kph, producing 40g/km, nearly six times as much as the corresponding figure for diesel car, emitting 7kph. Meanwhile, lorries are the second most polluting vehicle type, at 33kph, three times as much as the relevant figure for petrol car, at 11kph.
It is clear from the chart that the level of nitrogen oxide by all transport follows two main patterns at 90kph. Particularly, nitrogen oxide release by both buses and lorries reaches a low of 26 g/km and 17 g/km at the speed of 60kph and 90kph, respectively, before that of buses increases markedly to 34g/km at 90kph, up roughly 30%. Meanwhile, both petrol car and diesel car see a slight decrease in the amount of nitrogen oxide discharged to 5g/km and 9g/km, respectively, at 90kph.
From 90kph onwards, nitrogen oxide emissions by buses and lorries grow considerably to 42g/km and 24g/km, up rough 24% and 41%, respectively, while that of petrol car goes up slightly to 12g/km. Meanwhile, the corresponding figure for diesel car remains unchanged towards the end of the speed in question.
