The behavior of people gets instantly changed according to another's behavior. Sometimes people are not so rabid but the circumstances make them so. It's not always that people are irksome but others concoct them easily.
For instance, I am very polite and easily placified when in the worst times but the environment of my working institute makes my words caustic and my attitude turns me to smolder one. As I am a mathematics teacher there but sometimes I get science subject too to teach there and that is out of my context and very soon I get vexed. The work that is not of my field like I am asked to help to the librarian, I instantly get incisive with her. It's not my behavior but the circumstances and the external forces turn my behavior to the opposite one.
We see in banks when we go to the various counters for our work, the accountant who is well known for his politeness sometimes shout on the people. It's just the situation which gets created there. May be due to the uneducated people who does not know anything about banks, they scream on the employers there. They do not know how to fill forms. In this way the employers get trenchant with them and are not easy to be mollified at that scenario.
On the contrary, we see some cases where people are so well determined by their behavior that if someone shouts on them, they are hardly moved and get influenced. In that case, external forces do not even matter. For instance, there is one teacher working with me and she is so supercilious in her work that she does not listen odd about her. She is so pompous that even the small kids could not beat her self proud. Even the innocent faces of children did not melt her hard heart.
It depends on person to person how strong they are to get influenced by external forces or not. If they are so harsh enough about their behavior then nobody can change them.
