The graph provides a comparative study of the percentage of population aged 65 and over in three countries, Japan, Sweden and USA from 1940 to 2040.
The percentage of old people in Japan in 1940 was mere 5%. By 1960 the percentage dropped only to be stable till 1980. But since 1980 an irregular rise can be seen till 2040. In 2040, the percentage rose to 27.5% which is quite higher than the other two countries.
Furthermore, Sweden’s elderly population rose from 7% in 1940 to 14% in 1980. But after 1980 the population percentage observed cycles of ascends and descends after every decade...
